My Pregnancy Supplement Routine:
One of the most asked questions I get is, “what supplements are you taking?” I tend to change up my routine based on lab results, symptoms etc. However, now that I am pregnant, my supplement routine is locked in! Please note that this is not medical advice & just because I want to take these supplements in pregnancy, doesn't mean you need to! Always talk to your provider. Here is my favorite supplement organizer (pictured above).
MY PREGNANCY SUPPLEMENT ROUTINE:
Prenatal: I am taking Needed's Prenatal Multi Essentials! I have truly looked into most brands on the market & believe Needed is the best of the best. I break down why here. Use code: HEALTHYHONEY for a discount! They have 3 prenatal options that I will break down below:
Prenatal Multi Essentials: This is what I am currently taking! This option's serving size is only 3 capsules, which has been much easier for me while I am still nauseous. It still has everything you need, the essentials, but no extras! This option has the same level of methyl folate as the larger dose option, which is so important for first trimester!
Prenatal Multi Capsules: This is the larger-dose option that is packed with everything you & your baby might need in pregnancy! The serving size is 8 capsules, but is a great option if you want an extra safety blanket or are worried about getting enough nutrients from your diet!
Prenatal Multi Powder: This has all the same vitamins & minerals as the Prenatal Multi Capsules, but is in powder form if capsules are a struggle for you! Also is a great option if you just want to be able to add your prenatal to your daily protein shake!
Magnesium: I am actually using several forms of magnesium, based on my needs each day. Magnesium is extremely important for a healthy pregnancy! Most days I only use 1-3 of these, so you definitely don't need all of them!
Magnesium is actually best absorbed through the skin, so I have been taking nightly warm baths (not hot) with these salts & it has helped so much with my sleep! My provider told me baths are fine as long as my body temp isn't going up very much.
I switch between taking 1 serving of this or 1 capsule of this to support bowel movements if I am experiencing any level of constipation!
I also have been drinking Minerals & Chill from Healthillie (a pre-made adrenal cocktail mix) for minerals, which includes sodium, potassium, magnesium & whole food vitamin C (code AUDREY10).
I also often take Magnesium Glycinate to support mood & sleep.
Probiotic: I am taking 1 capsule of JustThrive's Probiotic in the morning with breakfast (code: AUDREY15) & 1 capsule of Organic Olivia's Flora V in the evening (code: AUDREY). I haven't had any issues taking both, but I would not recommend starting both at once! JustThrive's is targeted towards the gut & immune system, why Flora V is targeted towards your vaginal microbiome! P.S. Do not get any JustThrive products on Amazon, the brand made me aware that there are counterfeit products.
Whole Food vitamin C: I have a blog post on how to boost progesterone & I talk about the role that vitamin C plays! As we all know, progesterone is VERY important in pregnancy. In addition to boosting progesterone, vitamin C also helps keep the immune system strong, stress levels down & so much more! I love this one and/or a pre-made adrenal cocktail mix (linked under #3 on magnesium).
PC: PC from BodyBio is a POWER-HOUSE for you and your baby! I was taking before pregnancy and continued during after reading this article! I usually take just 1 capsule because it's not cheap, but if I am feeling more brain-fog, I will take 2! Use code AUDREY on their website for a discount, or grab it on Amazon!
Fish Oil: I love & use both BodyBio's Fish Oil+ and this more affordable option! Fish oil is important during pregnancy because it contains omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for the development of your baby's brain and eyes!
Electrolytes: I was OBSESSED with Pickleball prior to pregnancy & still think it is an AMAZING electrolyte option because of its high amounts of potassium, but sadly, I haven't been able to stomach it! I have mainly been using E-Lyte from BodyBio which you can get on their website with my discount code AUDREY or grab it on Amazon!
Vitamin D3 & K2 MK-7: Although Needed's prenatal has both of these vitamins, my midwife recommended I take more because of a low vitamin D level, history of dental issues & my trouble sleeping! I am taking this one.
B6: I have been this taking this bio-available form of B-6 to help combat nausea! Again, Needed's prenatal does have B6, but my midwife approved me adding in more to help with nausea!
Oyster: I take a full serving of Earthley's Oyster-Min 2-3 times a week because I am struggling to get in enough protein, don't love seafood, and know I probably need more zinc & iodine! Use code AUDREY10 for the discount!
Histamine Digest: I started taking this after reading this IG post & many of you telling me this helped with your pregnancy nausea! I just take 1 cap a day and feel relief for a few hours! It can also help with period cramps!!
I hope this helps as you choose the best supplement line up for YOU!
