Homemade Vanilla Maple Marshmallows
Marshmallows are truly one of the MOST magical things to make at home! No matter how many times I make them, every time they start to fluff up, I get so excited! Not to mention, they are a delicious way to get gelatin into your diet, which is INCREDIBLE for your gut & skin! Some call gelatin nature’s Botox! There are plenty of gelatin brands out there, but my absolute favorite is from Perfect Supplement’s because it is grass-fed, glyphosate free & VERY affordable for how much you get! You can also use gelatin to make homemade gummies & homemade ice cream! Use code AUDREY10 for a discount!
Ingredients:
Filtered water
1.5 tsp vanilla extract
sprinkle of vanilla bean powder or blob of vanilla bean paste for the beautiful vanilla bean speckles (optional)
1/2 cup (8 tbsp) Perfect Supplements Grass-Fed Gelatin
360 grams of pure maple syrup
1/2 tsp of salt
Directions:
1. Add 1 cup of filtered water to your mixing bowl & SLOWLY sprinkle gelatin on top to let it bloom (should look kinda like brains once it is done blooming).
2. Meanwhile, heat 2/3 cup of water, maple syrup, vanilla & salt over medium heat until very warm (but don’t let it come to a boil).
3. Start mixing bloomed gelatin with an electric mixer and slowly pour in warm maple syrup mixture. Increase the speed to high and mix until it’s marshmallow-y (about 8-12 minutes depending on your mixer). DO NOT let it get too fluffy, it should still be very pourable!
4. Pour entire fluffy mixture into a non-stick or parchment paper lined pan
5. Let cool on countertop for about an hour before enjoying!
6. Cut and store in an airtight container at room temp for up to a week.
