5 ways to naturally reduce stress & anxiety

It is no secret or surprise that most people experience stress and/or anxiety regularly. Can we just agree that being a human is HARD? There is a lot that could be going on if you are experiencing chronic stress/anxiety. My intention in this post is not to discredit the power and sometimes need to go to therapy as well as work with a medical professional to see if there are physical root causes to the way you are feeling. Those things are very valuable and I have found a lot of relief from working with my therapist and integrative health practitioners! I also do not want to discredit the need for meds in some cases.
My hope for this post is that I can provide some simple ways for you to support your mind and body on a daily bases to ease feelings of stress and anxiety as they come!

5 ways to help ease stress & anxiety:

  1. Practice deep breathing: Taking a deep breath causes your brain to communicate with your nervous system and say, “You are safe, you can relax.” There are so many different deep breathing practices, however my favorite is “Box Breathing”— Breathe in through your nose and into your abdomen for 4 seconds, hold that breath for 4 seconds, release slowly through your mouth for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds & repeat 1-3 times.

  2. Take an epsom salt bath: Quality epsom salts have high doses of magnesium in them. Magnesium is a mineral that most people are deficient in and it helps relax your body & mind. I also love to add calming essential oils into my baths! If you do not have a bathtub or want added benefits of magnesium, I have been loving applying magnesium oil before bed!

  3. Listen to Hertz (Hz) music: This one might feel a little woo woo, but it is actually very scientific. Read more about how and why it works here. I truly play Hz music every day, so don’t knock it until you try it! Here is a playlist I created with my favorite frequencies for anxiety/stress, 432Hz and 528Hz.

  4. Use CBD products: There have been many studies about high quality CBD helping with stress and anxiety because of it’s ability to help the body process serotonin. My absolute favorite CBD products are from Young Living. If you are not a Young Living customer yet, you can shop my favorite CBD, here! Unlock the 24% off wholesale discount by spending $100 or more on your first order or subscribing to at least one item.

  5. Move your body: Getting outside for a walk or hitting the gym not only distracts you from whatever you are stressed/anxious about, it also releases anti-anxiety neurochemicals, including serotonin and endorphins. Here is your reminder to move your body daily!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Please share with anyone who you think may benefit from these practices :)
